This four-story masonry structure houses the new ASU science laboratories,
classrooms, and lecture halls. It is carefully positioned on a confined
hillside building site in the heart of this busy campus.
Glasco provided eight thousand square feet of 2" x 4 1/2" tubular, thermally improved,
clear anodized aluminum window wall, glazed with 1" insulating glass. Monumental 2",
thermally improved, aluminum projected vents were inserted into the window walls to provide
supplemental ventilation.
The project features a two-story round top main aluminum entrance, defined by a two-story,
thermally improved aluminum curtain wall crown with a return, extending out six feet from
the building proper. Exterior and interior entrances to public areas are Rugged Medium
Stile 2" aluminum doors with custom architectural hardware applied by Glasco. Interior
glass is used extensively. Vanity mirrors are structurally mounted, with edges ground and
polished.
